OSLOs Americana Series designates the typical traditional American style of the sash and frame components. The sashes are milled square and designed to swing to and from the outside to fit into the frame flush with the outside face of the frame as opposed to the Euro overlapping profiles, (Continental Series). Double windows typically have a fixed center post but a French double casement with no center post is an option. Solid bronze single arm cranks or push rods are sash operator options. Awnings must have a center post between functioning sashes.
Though the Continental Series design with multipoint locking consistently tests at higher performance levels, OSLOs Americana style is not to be viewed so much as a down-grade as a style decision. This series as made by OSLO is still by any standard engineered for the high performance category. The lack of overlapping wood profiles is compensated by using a double weather seal system, triple comb sash corner joinery, and precision tolerance sash to frame fitting. Transoms and other fixed surrounds are custom made to your design. 1 inch insulated glazing; 7/8 inch three part muntin or 1 3/8 inch true divided light muntins in any configuration.

A gear operated crank can also be used to operate the sash. A single crank operates a hidden gear driven scissor hinge and sash side lever locks are used. (typical Truth model or Stainless steel)
