Crank-out casements inherently are more limited in sash size than OSLOs Old English or Euro sash profiled designs because there are weight and wind load limitations on typical articulating TRUTH type scissor hinges and crank gear hardware therefore a lower performance expectation in seaside locations. Designers specify crank casements for their narrow sash profiles, and the fact that they can be operated without opening or removing a screen. This all translates into price economy too.
