With it’s latest expansion, Oslo wished to increase productivity but was also looking for greater flexibility as our reputation brought demand for more unusual and complex assignments. Precise criteria were established such as: machining of curved parts (elimination of over a hundred jigs); reduction of inventory and space required for current products; Just-in-Time production management, plus updated work station training; computer network integration so approved shop drawings automatically become part of the CNC machine programming for every product.
One major solution was the acquisition of a CNC, 5 axis milling center able to change it’s own tool heads several times during any one complex sash or frame milling. Joinery is milled according to computer programs engineered to micro tolerances one at a time or a thousand in sequence without a single mistake. This is all accomplished in a tenth the time and waste, making assembly faster achieving an overall superior product.
